Employee Timeclock

Paper time cards and shared logins make payroll slow and hard to trust. Employee Timeclock puts a kiosk on a tablet or PC by the door: employees scan their badge to clock in and out, and the punches land in ERPNext as Employee Checkins. On the shop floor, the same badge starts and stops timers on Job Cards, so labor hours reach your job costing without anyone re-keying them. It needs ERPNext and HRMS.

Features

• Kiosk pages. A badge kiosk at /timeclock, an Employee Clock-in/out web form, and a job time tracker at /job_timeclock. Each runs signed in as a kiosk user with the Timeclock Kiosk role; none accept guests.

• Badges. HR issues a random badge token from the Employee form and prints it as a barcode or QR code; only its SHA-256 hash is stored. Reissue or revoke it at any time. RFID tags in the Employee's Attendance Device IDs work too.

• Workdays. Each employee's punches for a day are gathered into one Workday record with up to twelve in and out pairs and the total hours. Edits on either side keep the Workday and its Employee Checkins in step.

• Job time tracking. Employees pick a work order and operation and start a timer that logs to the Job Card. Starting a new job closes the open one. Operations marked as machine time track the machine separately from its operator, and employees can pin the jobs they use most.

• HR tools. The Workday Management page flags missing punches, duplicate or out-of-sync workdays, and lets HR add, fix, or delete punches in bulk. Payroll, hours, and punch list reports cover the rest.

• Safe by default. Only active employees can clock in, badge scans are rate limited per client, and an unknown badge gets the same answer whatever the reason.

Getting started

Install the app on a site with ERPNext and HRMS, create a kiosk user with only the Timeclock Kiosk role, issue badges from each Employee's Timeclock menu, and sign the kiosk device in. The README walks through each step.
